Exterior

Built in 1950, this home was once the "arts and crafts" building for a children's summer camp. Since then it has been completely renovated; second story added; and undergone a complete change in decor. The home has been designed to take advantage of the natural setting, with strategically placed windows and sliding glass doors to bring the outdoors in.

The house overlooks a pond, which has been enhanced by custom stonework, perennial plants, and several small waterfalls. It is home to fish, turtles, frogs, and some beautiful water lilies.

Main Floor

The sleek, modern kitchen has stainless steel base cabinets, with custom wood cabinets near the refrigerator. Top of the line stainless steel appliances, a sealed cement countertop, and updated lighting complete the room.

The living room, just off the kitchen is one large space with a total of three large sliding glass doors to the wrap around deck. In the photo below, one side of the living room area has been set up for dining. The actual dining room, complete with built-in wet bar, is behind the stairwell (and beside the kitchen, which is to the left out of this photo). Recessed lighting with touch-dimmer switches is found throughout.

Custom Baths

There are two bedrooms and two baths on the main floor. This bath is just behind the dining area. Custom tile work was done with imported European tile. The fixtures are also imported.

This bath with custom tiled shower is located off one of the first floor bedrooms for privacy. The countertop and floor are tinted cement inset wtih stones. The fixtures here are also imported.

First Floor Bedrooms

Both first floor bedrooms are roomy and have large closets. One faces the rear of the property, with a large window (left photo). The other has a window facing the front, placed high to ensure privacy.

900 Square Foot Loft

The entire second floor has been made into one large loft suite, complete with walk-in closet and a delightful large bath. Two oversized sliding glass doors lead to a private balcony extending the entire length of the loft. Skylights bring the sunshine in, and custom recessed lighting has been added. The L-shaped open space includes several seating areas.

Established in 1938, the Pine Bush Central School District is composed of four elementary schools, two middle schools, and a high school. It has a student enrollment of 5,986 and a budget of $99.9 million.

The Awosting Reserve is 2,518 acres, recently added to the Minnewaska State Park Preserve, is just north and west of this property.
